Opening ceremony for Master of Food Science and Engineering International Student Program (MFSE-ISP) 2019

       On September 16th, opening ceremony for Master of Food Science and Engineering International Student Program (MFSE-ISP) 2019 was held in Dongtang Hall. Qijin Liu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Yong Xu, deputy dean of Graduate School, Chunhui Zhang, Assistant Dean of Graduate School,

         Guiping Hu, deputy dean of School of International Education, Zhiwei Tan, Secretary of the CPC School of Food Science and Engineering Committee, and Xin’an Zeng, dean of School of Food Science and Engineering, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was co-chaired by Yonghua Wang, Associate Dean of School of Food Science and Engineering, and Prof. Chin Ping Tan from Universiti Putra Malaysia.



         Qijin Liu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee, expressed her warm welcome to the international students' enrollment and expressed her expectations for them. She hopes that the freshmen can cherish the campus time, take responsibility and mission given by the times, and achieve excellent and satisfactory results in two years’ study



         Afterwards, all the guests gave speeches and expressed their welcome and expectation for the new students. Bozovic Sladana, student representative from Montenegro, spoke on behalf of all the freshmen and shared her feelings about this new journey.


 

 


         It is reported that the Master of Food Science and Engineering International Student Program (MFSE-ISP) is a further initiative to implement the “One Belt, One Road” initiative to enhance political mutual trust, economic integration and humanities exchange between China and ASEAN countries. With joint effort by South China University of Technology and Universiti Putra Malaysia, the first 15 students were admitted from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Bangladesh, Botswana, Nigeria and Montenegro.
