On November 3rd, Vice President Wu Yechun, accompanied by director Lin Yiwen from the Science and Technology Department, visited our school for investigation and guidance. Dean Ye Daiqi, Secretary Chen Hangyu, some representatives of teachers, as well as relevant school staff attended the meeting.

 During the meeting, Dean Ye Daiqi firstly thanked thevice President Wu Yechun for his guidance to the school work in spite of his busy schedule. Then he reported the basic conditions of the discipline, personnel, platform and scientific research, as well as achievements and difficulties faced in the development of the school. He pointed that the National Engineering Laboratory had facedsome difficulties in the construction process.

 Vice president Wu Yechun listened to the report of Dean Ye Daiqi, and replied one by one on the difficulties included personnel, venues and funding duringthe construction of national engineering laboratory.Wu Yechunpointed out that it was not easy for us to win the only National Engineering Laboratory in Guangdong led by a university by competing with a number of unitsall over the country. It fully proved that theschool had accomplished remarkable achievement in theVolatile Organic Compounds treatment and been in the leading domestic level.

 The school wouldspare no effortsand mobilize all forces to build the platform and solve the problems in the construction. At the same time, it was hoped that the school would take the construction of National Engineering Laboratory as the key project, make full use of the platform to gather talents, strengthen the contact with the government and leading companies, and constantly develop the level of research and disciplines.
