March 25^th, 2017, hosted by Department of Environmental Protection of Guangdong Province and South China University of Technology, jointly organized by Environmental Protection Publicity and Education Center of Guangdong Province and the School of Environment and Energy, the fourth Guangdong Youth Creative Contest of Environmental ProtectionScience and Technology special training activitywas held at B1-106 in the south campus. Vice director of Environmental Protection Publicity and Education Center of Guangdong province Zhou Guanming, director of ministry of education, Luo Jia, dean of School of Environment and Energy,Professor Ye Daiqi, deputy secretary Wu Yaohua, Associate professor Fu Mingli, staff Chen Haowen, the experts and judges from Sun Yat-sen University, South China Normal University, Jinan University and more than 200contestants from primary and middle school in Guangdong Province participated in the special training camp.

The purpose of Guangdong Youth Creative Contest of Environmental Protection is to promote the carrying out of environmental science and technology innovation activities in the each green schooland cultivate the innovation spirit of youth in our province. Teenagers are the vital force to promote the continuous development of our enterprise.To sow the concept of green environmental protection and harmony between human being and nature for the youths, to increase the level of environmental education for youths, and to create a variety of favorable conditions to encourage them to exert innovativelyare conducive to the mobilization of young people participating in environmental protection and construction of beautiful happy Guangdong.

The special training campaims to explain the rules of the contest to contestants and answer their questions, as well as to take training on the presentation of manners and skills, contest and Guangzhou World Youth Environmental Exchange Conference, the activities about the contest entering into the United Nations Environmental Protection Agency and so on. At the same time,the experts fromthe four major cooperated universities, Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, South China Normal University, Jinan University,guided the docking with the team before the competition face to face.

Professor Fu Mingli explained the key points of contest to the contestants and answer questions vividly. Contestants listened earnestly and questioned enthusiastically, benefited a lot in the end of the camp.

Our school has always been committed to various environmental protection public welfaresall the time. This time, associated with the Environmental protection and Education center of Guangdong Province, we hosted the Guangdong Youth Creative Contest of Environmental Protection, to jointly promote the youth’s innovative spirit, practical ability and environmental protection awareness. This contest, our schoolsupportstrongly with venue, materials, conference affairs, work appraisal, judges, student guidance, and so on. We also expect that, through the contest, the teenagers will take actions and participate in environmental protection activities. It is believed that the various environmental protection initiatives and actions of adolescents will also benefit the family's participation in environmental protection, ultimately achieve the goal of universal environmental protection by everyone.
