Prof. Ju-Chang Howard Huang was appointed visiting professor in the School of Environmental Science and Engineering on Jan. 18, 2010. He is also a Professor Emeritus from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research interests includes: Innovative water and wastewater treatment processes, including enhanced primary waste treatment with sludge recycling, hybrid biological reactor with sludge-age control, intensified aerobic sludge blanket reactor with H2O2 injection or external oxygenation as the oxygen source, nucleated precipitation of heavy metals from industrial wastewater, and one-stage anaerobic treatment of high sulfate wastewater with online sulfide in recirculating biogas.
