From March 31st to April 1st, The 14th China Information Hiding Workshop (CIHW2018) was held at South China University of Technology. Vice president Wu Yechun attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. More than 350 experts and scholars from nearly 80 research institutes around the country come to Guangzhou to discuss the latest research results in the field of multimedia information security.

In his speech, Prof. Wu Yechun pointed out that information hiding as a new technology to ensure information security has attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign scholars and has become a new research hotspot. The holding of the CIHW2018 will increase academic exchanges among information security peers and enhance the overall level of China’s information hiding community.

Conference venue

The development of computer technology and the Internet has brought new challenges to secure storage, secure transmission, and secure access to information. As a new technology to ensure information security, information hiding has attracted the attention of many scholars and has become one of the current research hotspots. The conference invited many top scholars from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University, University of Rochester(US) and City University of Hong Kongetc. to give academic lectures.

Digital steganography and steganalysis techniques, digital forensics technologies, digital watermarking technologies and other multimedia security technologies were also discussed in the workshop in groups. Some paper were selected as outstanding paper.

Outstanding paper awarded ceremony

CIHW which aims to provide researchers in the field of multimedia security an academic platform for the exchange of new ideas, new methods and new technologies has lasted for 19 years. It is one of the benchmarking conferences in the field of information security.

This conference was co-hosted by Chinese Institute of Electronics on Communication Society and Beijing Institute of Electronic Technology and Application and was jointly organized by South China University of Technology and Beijing Institute of Electronic Technology and Application. Moreover, it was the first time that South China University of Technology hosted this workshop, which plays an important role in promoting the academic status of the university in the field of information security.
