Warmly congratulate our alumni Jia Liu awarded the only Best Paper Award on the IEEE INFOCOM 2016 hosted on April 10th to 15th at San Francisco. (http://infocom2016.ieee-infocom.org/content/best-paper-award-runner). The title of the paper is: Heavy-Ball: A New Approach to Tame Delay and Convergence in Wireless Network Optimization. In this paper, a new method is proposed to substantially improve the delay and convergence of wireless network resource optimization.

IEEE INFOCOM is regarded as the world's top academic conference in the field of network communications and was ranked by Google Scholar as the top academic conference of Computer Networks and Wireless Communication (https://scholar.google.com/citations?view_op=top_venues&hl=en&vq=eng_computernetworkswirelesscommunication). The procedure of double-blind review was adopted in INFOCOM conference, which is extremely harsh. Acceptance rate of INFOCOM this year is only 300/1644=18%.

In 2010, he received a doctor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering at Virginia Tech. He is currently working at The Ohio State University as an assistant professor (Personal homepage: http://www2.ece.ohio-state.edu/~liu/). In addition to this year’s INFOCOM Best Paper Award, Jia Liu also won the Best Paper Runner-up Award of INFOCOM in 2011 and 2013, which means that he has received three times for the category of IEEE INFOCOM best paper awards in five years.
