On the morning of April 25, 2019, Mr. Matthias Vogt, General Manager of Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou, visited SEC and held a lecture named “How to be a professional hotelier”. Mr. Matthias Vogt introduced the brand and industry trends of luxury hotels, as well as necessary qualities to become a professional hotelier. He believed that students in Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management should study hard and work for the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation with the boom of China. Mr. Matthias Vogt won a round of applaud by his rich experiences and humor.

German Mr. Matthias Vogt is the general manager of Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou and Ritz-Carlton Luxury Apartment in Guangzhou. He was the general manager of Ritz-Carlton, Vienna, Austria. He has nearly 20-year experiences in management of Ritz-Carlton, and brand management, hotel operation and catering service. Providing guests with wonderful experiences and comfort through inherent sincere care and affinity. Mr. Matthias Vogt joined the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Group in 1999, and then held key positions in Berlin, Hong Kong and Fort Worth, and was promoted as resident manager of Ritz-Carlton, Fort Worth in 2008, then as hotel manager in Ritz-Carlton, Sanya. He also participated in successful opening ceremonies of several Ritz-Carlton hotels, including the Ritz-Carlton, Berlin, The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, The Ritz-Carlton, Abama, Tenerife, Spain, the borges hotel, and Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, China. Mr. Matthias Vogt has been the general manager of Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou, since 2015. He has won the Forbes Travel Guide five-star award in 2016-2018, and 2016–2018 Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou has been awarded “Travel + Leisure” China's Top 100 Travel Awards, in 2015 and 2018 respectively won the Celebrity Conde Nast Traveler gold list honor. The 2018 Michelin Guide was first settled in Guangzhou, the Chinese restaurant of Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou, also won the Michelin one-star honor.
