Since the end of 1980s, the research on Chaos Theory and Secure Communication has achieved satisfying results. The undergraduate program in information security has been established since 2004 to fulfill the needs of experts for the development of our country and Guangdong province. The first level discipline to offer the doctoral program (一级学科博士点) in cyberspace security has been approved in 2016. Based on the research in data security, web security, application security and content security, the training on security of cloud computing, internet of things and big data is provided. We provide excellent teaching environment in terms of a moderate-sized team of professors, a research platform of “Guangdong engineering techniques research center of information access and transmission security” (“广东省信息访问与传输安全工程技术研究中心”), and a joint laboratory on web and information security by the university and enterprises.
