Program in Network Engineering was established in South China University of Technology after the first approval by the Ministry of Education in 2000. South China University of Technology is one of the earliest universities to provide网络工程本科专, and obtains Computer Network Key Laboratory of Guangdong Province. In 2007, 网络工程本科专was listed as the first batch of National Special Program(首批国家特色专业). In 2014, the specialty was selected as the Guangdong Province Higher Education Quality and Teaching Reform Project professional comprehensive reform pilot professional (广东省高等学校教学质量与教学改革工程“专业综合改革”试点专业). We abide by the motto of SCUT “Learn extensively, ponder prudently, distinguish clearly, practice devotedly (“博学、慎思、明辨、笃行”) and the training mode of good character, solid foundation, strong ability, strongly adaptable” (重人品、厚基础、强能力、宽适应”). Our education pursues high-quality teaching and excellent research on teaching. We strengthen the students’ innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and practical ability, and aim to develop experts with general ability in networking in order to contribute to development of the southern China, especially Guangdong Province.
