Recently, a team under the leadership of Yong Li from Guangzhou Broadcasting Network visited our new media laboratory. The research and development members of each side conducted in-depth exchange and discussion on a client of P2P-based network television broadcast system named Banacast, a FIPTV mobile client and related data mining research work.

During the visit, teachers from our Multimedia Technology and Image Processing Research Lab introduced current status of our new media laboratory, including software systems and research work such as data mining of users' viewing records. Using a mobile phone with the FIPTV mobile APP, our teachers demonstrated how to receive live video streaming and upload video in real-time. Large-scale use cases applying Banacast were also presented to our visitors. On the basis of fully understanding the development and research work of our new media laboratory, the visiting team conducted comprehensive as well as in-depth analysis and discussion with our teachers, focusing on the development direction and demand of new media.

Through the visit and communication from Guangzhou Broadcasting Network, both of our visitors and us have increased mutual understanding of each other's technology and resources. After exchange of viewpoints and suggestions, we are looking forward to further promote our cooperation in the fusion of research and development of new media technology and business.
