On 22nd November, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) released the new list of IEEE Fellows. Professor Zhihui Zhan from the School of Computer Science and Engineering at South China University of Technology was elected as IEEE Fellow.
IEEE was founded in 1963 and is an international society of electronic technology and information science engineers. It is also one of the largest professional technical societies in the world. Today, the number of overseas members has exceeded that of the United States, with over 400000 members in more than 160 countries and regions. IEEE Fellow is the highest level of membership of the society and the highest honor bestowed upon members by IEEE. It is recognized as an authoritative honor and important professional achievement in the academic and technological community. Elected IEEE Fellows are required to make significant contributions to the progress or application of engineering science & technology, and bring significant value to society. According to IEEE regulations, the number of elected members shall not exceed 0.1% of the total number of members in that year.
