A symposium on Scientific Research and Prospects of Computer Education was held in Room B3 308 an the afternoon on December 15. Professor Ying Gao, Vice Dean of our school chaired the symposium. The teaching steering committee of the Ministry of Education, Chairman of ACM SIGCSE China, Professor Zhang Ming of Peking University were invited to give a sharing with more than ten teachers in our school.


Professor Zhang introduced the design and implementation process of computer education programs in the National Science Foundation of the United States in detail at the symposium. He raised the education and scientific research issues concerned by that international colleagues, and also analyzed deeply the dilemmas faced by China's computer education and the response from China's National Fund Committee Move. Professor Zhang introduced the level-2 code F0701 of Education Information Science and Technology newly added by National Fund Commission. He discussed the research hotspot in computer education and made a prospect of China's computer science research.


Teachers of our school discussed the issues of curriculum design, teaching conditions and teaching effects in the MOOC (massive open online courses) with Professor Zhang  according to their experience. Professor Zhang shared the cases of MOOC resources in Peking University.


The teachers have great benefit from the symposium, and it was ended successfully.
