South China University of Technology Programming Contest sponsored by School of Computer Science and Engineering and organized by Tencent Innovation Club was successfully held in B3, South China University of Technology, Higher Education Mega Center on 29th April, 2017.
There are 107 teams (316 people) in total including 42 teams (123 people) are from different schools of our university, such as School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Software Engineering, School of Mathematics, School of Electronic and Information Engineering, and School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering. Sun Yat-sen University, South China Agricultural University, Guangdong University of Technology, Jinan University, South China Normal University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou University, Southern University of Science and Technology, Zhaoqing College and other colleges and universities also sent a team to participate in the contest.
ACM-ICPC (International Student Programming Contest) rules have been applied to the contest. The contest is a team competition and each team consists of three players. The program should be developed in C or C++ in the given computer in 5 hours. Solution is verified automatically by the judging system. The final ranking is calculated based on the number of correct solutions and the time spent. All 11 questions used in the contest are originally designed from doubility team (Zhenkun Cai, Wenjian Lu, Jingwei Zhang) which is the final team in the 41st ACM-ICPC World competition in 2017. Those questions have various level of difficulties and are able to distinguish the ability of members. Online judging system developed by Weikun Xie’s team was used. There are 3918 submissions in total. The players are satisfied with the judging system due to its stability, accuracy, and speed.
The winner was WeAreATeam (Kaihao Ma, Weiquan Xie, Shaopeng Fu), first runner-up was Outer Ring Road 382 team (Chengdong Wei, Zixiang Yan, Shijia Huang), second runner-up was BombSquad team (Xingyi Chen, Chen Chen, Shunhong Hu).The top 10 teams were presented by the leaders of our School.
