Introduction

Dr Huifang DENG is a full Professor (Chinese-British) at South China University of Technology in Guangzhou, China. He received his BSc and MSc in Physics in China and his PhD degree in Modelling of 2D TFT-LCD systems by finite elements from University College London (UCL), UK.

From the years of 1989 to 2004, he was studying, working and living in the UK (for nearly 16 years). From 2001 to 2004, he served as a Chief Technical Officer and Chief Scientist at Sunrise Systems Limited in Cambridge, UK. In September 2004, he took the position of the Dean of Software School at South China University of Technology. His research interests include RFID technology and applications, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Big Data, AI, data mining, deep learning, data fusion, quantum computing, information diffusion theory in social networks, social computing, computer modelling, SOA, large-scale high performance scientific supercomputing, computational fluid dynamics, molecular dynamic simulation, CAE/CAM etc.

So far, he has got over 120 papers published, 3 invention patents granted, one book entitled “An Introduction to Computer Science (English-Chinese Bilingual)” published.

He delivers the course of “Computer Science” to Chinese and foreign students in full English (has for over 10 years).

The undergraduates and postgraduates he is supervising and supervised are from worldwide countries.

Furthermore, he chaired or co-chaired more than 10 subject-related International Conferences outside China
