Scope and Topics
Evolutionary computation (EC) algorithms have aroused great attentions from both the academic and industrial communities in recent years due to their promising performance in many real-world optimization problems. However, in the era of cloud computing and big data, many optimization problems face the challenges of Large Scale & Dynamic/Uncertain, Multimodal & Many-objective, and Complexity & Expensive Fitness, which make traditional centralized EC algorithms based on a single computer/computing resource result in Low Solution Accuracy, Slow Convergence Speed, and Long Running Time. In order to promote traditional centralized EC algorithms to solve the complicated optimization problems in Big Data Era, using distributed technology to enhance EC algorithms is a promising approach.
Distributed EC (DEC) algorithms pose several new challenges: the design of DEC algorithms, the selection of distributed architectures, distributed resource scheduling method, and the deployment of the EC algorithms on distributed computing platform. This Special Session is to draw the attentions of researchers in both the communities of distributed technology and EC to exchange their latest advances in theories and technologies of EC, distributed technology, and the works on extending DEC approaches to real-world applications.Authors are invited to submit their original and unpublished work with the topics including, but not limited to:
Design of DEC algorithm architectures
Design of distributed architectures based on real-world application problems
Parameters researches on DEC
Topology researches on DEC
Approaches for distributed computing resource scheduling for DEC
Development of DEC algorithms on distributed resources
Theoretical analysis of DEC algorithms
Real-world applications of DEC algorithms
