The meeting for student work experience sharing and exchanging

On the 12th January, a summary meeting for sharing exchanging experience in student work was held in the conference room 105 of shaw Engineering Hall. The School Party Secretary Guomin Xu, Deputy Secretary Caigang Liu, all full and part-time counselor, chiefs of the College's Youth League, and Research Committee and Student Union of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering attended the meeting.

The meeting was divided into two major parts that the sharing of student work experience and the summary of current student work.In the first session, Prof. Shangda Jiang shared his experience as deputy secretary Youth League Committee, counselor and student leaders in Peking University, thenput forward several experiences for the development of student work in school and university. He suggested that firstly, it is necessary to establish the service consciousness and the majority of student cadres should bear in mind the work first with "good service guarantee",Secondly, in order to eliminate the quick success of the phenomenon, the majority of student cadres should choose something meaningful and valuable on the road of life and adhere to it, and find the original intention;Thirdly, counselors need to form a good mentality in the work. When facing a variety of unexpected situations they should be correctly viewed and calmly handled. Finally, it needs to establish links with students where student work can be linked with teaching, research and other focused work through various forms. For example, through the development of scientific research activities, project demonstration, discipline excellence, etc., to play the role of role models to lead, and promote the college's excellent academic culture education.

Secretary Xu expressed his thoughts on Jiang’s experience.He believes that counselors should treat students as friends in their daily student work, while actively communicating with students.Party members and student cadres should have the spirit of dedication to perform their duties conscientiously in their positions. Secretary Xu also emphasized that the college's group work should be consistent with the direction of talent cultivation to better serve the teaching and research of the university, and realize the cultural heritage. Daily communication between graduate and undergraduate students should be strengthened, and students should be encouraged to actively participate in volunteer activities.

In the part of the student work summary, the deputy secretary Caigang Liu made a brief introduction and summary on the 8th National Student Chemical Safety Design Competition. He affirmed the hard work of all staff and congratulated on the achievement of "Grand Prize" in the competition. He emphasized that this competition was the first time to adopt a combination of online and offline methods, but the event was carried out smoothly. In the future, we should strengthen the coordination to actively prepare for the tournament, and strive to make the chemical safety tournament into an influential, national brand activity with disciplinary characteristics. Subsequently, Secretary Xu put forward suggestions and arrangements on how to do a good job of epidemic prevention and control normalized student thinking and education management, create college brand characteristics activities, create excellent wind and classroom style, improve the overall quality of students' ability, and strengthen the construction of the academic staff team.
