Title: Engineering Vanadium Dioxide Nanoparticles for Smart Coatings
Speaker: Prof. Xuchuan Jiang (Monash University)
Time: 9:30a.m., May 4th, 2017
Venue: Room 214, Building No. 16, Wushan Campus
Abstract:
Energy and environment have emerged as the most critical challenges globally in the 21st century. Nanomaterials have attracted much more attention because of their unique functional properties and broad applications in energy and environment. This presentation is going to talk about thermochromic vanadium dioxide (VO2) that can be prepared and coated on glass for smart window coating applications to save energy and protect environment. This will focus on VO2 nanoparticle synthesis, film coating, and solar modulating performance test. In particular, the large-scale preparation of such nanoparticles for pilot plant and further commercialization will be discussed.
