The Pharmaceutical Engineering program was established in 2003 to meet the industrial needs for qualified engineers, particularly the needs of the pharmaceutical companies located in the Pearl River delta ares. Students enroll in the program to study towards the B.A.Sc. degree. The program offers a cutting edge curriculum in the fields of biological engineering and process science, with emphasis on pharmaceutical engineering principles. The program offers fundamental and engineering courses, including organic chemistry, physical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, formulation, biochemistry, unit operation, pharmaceutical technology, separation, pharmaceutical process control and equipment, etc.
Through a combination of cutting-edge research and advanced coursework, students are prepared to accept high-level professional or research positions in thriving industries, start-up companies, academic institutions, research centers and government regulation offices.

Four-year Program                                                                                     Program Code: 081102
Program Aims
The program is designed not only to disseminate theoretical and latest knowledge of the discipline, but also to equip students with requisite research methodology and ability to explore the unknown. The program prepares students for future careers in the fields of pharmaceutical industry, pesticide manufacturing, fine chemistry, and biochemistry. The graduates will also be qualified to be engaged in research and teaching in research institutes and institutions of higher learning.
Program Features
Drawing on the sophisticated teaching and research facilities as well as rich experience of the professors with extraordinary research power, the program puts much premium on the cultivation of students' innovative and analytical thinking and ability, encouraging students to participate in research project with a view to acquiring hands-on experience under the guidance of professors.
