2002-Ph. D., (Chemistry) University of Science and Technology of China.
2002 6- 2004 10 Postdoctor, Taiwan Normal University, Taipei
2005 2- 2006 4  Research Fellow, Singapore-MIT Alliance, Singapore
2006.5- 2007.7  Senior Fellow, University of Washington, Seattle, USA

Research Areas:
My researches focus on biological and physical applications of special nanostructures, such as quantum dots, nanotubes, nanorods/nanowires. I am also interested in the synthesis, characterization and self-assembly of novel nanostructures, which is important not only in biological applications but also in optoelectronic devices. The current projects include that 1) structure design and controllable synthesis of new hybrid nanostructures; 2) hollow nanostructures: general synthesis, characterization and their applications; 3) biological applications of optical barcodes based on quantum dots, 4) ultrasensitive detection of biomolecules using one-dimensional metallic nanostructures.

Current Research Projects:
Synthesis, Characterization and Optical Properties of Novel Hybrid Nanostructures, sponsored by the South China University of Technology, China
Commercialization of Carbon Nanotube Supported Noble Metal Catalysts, sponsored by the Innovation and Technology Commission, HK
