Research fields and main achievements

·Research fields

The research fields are mainly focused on fermentation engineering, enzyme engineering, biocatalysis and so on. Based on the above research, the following 3 aspects are included: 1) to apply metabolic engineering to perform microbial strains modification, especially the enhancement of the host and high expression strain, 2) to use gene engineering technology to produce industrial enzymes & antimicrobial peptides in Pichia pastoris expression system, 3) to utilize yeast surface display to immobilize enzyme and apply the displaying enzyme to produce the high added value chemicals with biological manufacturing.

Main achievements

I have been presided over more than ten research projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation idedof China (NSFC), sub-projects by National Key Technology Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong ProvinceKey scientific and technological projects in Guangdong Province, Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities and Enterprises. As the first author or corresponding author, more than ten articles have been published in the SCI journals related to fermentation engineering and bioengineering field, such as Applied Microbiology & BiotechnologyPlos oneProcess BiochemistryEnzyme Microbiology Technology and so on. 

I also obtained more than ten authorized patents, as well as obtained the second prize of  2005th  scientific and technological progress in  Guangdong Province, ranked second. Besides, over ten doctors or masters were trained.
