AU Lecture - the Research on Vibration Control of Flexible Structures and Applications in Autonomous Systems

    On April 26, academic lecture of AU organized by the School of Automation Science and Engineering was held on the sixth floor conference room of Building 3. The topic of this lecture was the Research on Vibration Control of Flexible Structures and Applications in Autonomous Systems. Prof. He Wei, from University of Science & Technology Beijing, was invited to this issue as the major guest. The lecture was chaired by Prof. Yang Chenguang.

    Before the lecture, Prof. Yang gave a brief introduction to Prof. He, who is the Royal Society- Newton Advanced Fellowship and IEEE Senior Member as well. In the lecture, firstly, Prof. He introduced the dynamic model and vibration control of some common flexible systems, including flapping wing aerial robot system, flexible manipulator system, mooring system and so on. Then, for each system, he proposed the adaptive boundary control strategy and established methods of the effective vibration control design and stability analysis. What’s more, Prof. He also showed their own independent experimental platform to emphasise the importance of the combination of theory and practice. Finally, Prof. He answered the questions patiently and audiences really appreciated it with thunderous applause.

    Impressed by the achievement of this young professor, audiences were inspired as well as expanded their own horizon. It's a truly beneficial lecture!
