0811 Control Science and Engineering

    Control Science and Engineering is the study of control on its theory, method, technology and its engineering applications. It takes control theory, information theory, system theory as its foundation, and studies the common problems that are independent of specific objects in various fields. It provides methodology to different applications. Hence, it drives the development of related disciplines, such as computer science, communications, microelectronics, and cognitive science, which in turn propel the prosperity of control science and engineering.

  The First-Level Discipline of Control Science and Engineering in our school has been ranked 13 in the evaluation of Ministry of Education in 2006. It involves 4 Secondary Disciplinary Doctoral Programmes and Master Programmes, including Control Theory and Control Engineering, Detection Technology and Automation Devices, System Engineering, and Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems, as well as a Post-Doctoral Research Center. This is the only First-Level Discipline and Post-Doctoral Research Center on Control Science and Engineering in Guangdong Province.

081101 Control Theory and Control Engineering
  This major focuses on the control systems in the field of engineering based on mathematics and computer technology. We study various control strategies as well as the theories and methods on modeling, analysis, synthesis, optimization, design and implementation of control systems. This major cultivates specialized talents in the fields of research, design, development and system integration on control theory and engineering.

081102 Detection Technology and Automation Devices  
  Detection technology studies how to convert the parameters that describe the features of the objects being tested into the signals that are easy to transmit, and provides them to automatic control system. Automation devices deal with the sensors, transmitters, controllers, actuators in control systems, including their integration, intelligentization, and reliability. This major cultivates specialized talents in the fields of research, design, development on detection technology and automation devices.

081103 System Engineering
  This is a synthetical engineering technology discipline that consider overall optimization of the organization, control and management of systems. It has been set up to solve social problems. The major cultivates specialized talents in the fields of research, design and development on system engineering.

081104 Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System
  This is a new major that is based on the multiple disciplines of signal processing, artificial intelligence, cybernetics and computer technology. It cultivates specialized talents in the fields of research, design and development on pattern recognition and intelligent systems.

  The major of System Analysis and Integration studies the mathematical modeling of system. It uses systematic methodology to analyze, design, optimize and make decision of complex systems, so that the inner laws of these systems are effectively depicted.
