Biography
Prof. Luo Fei,Born in the city of Liuzhou in Guangxi Province, majoring in Automation, graduated from University of Science and Technology Beijing and got his Bachelor’s degree in February,1982, Master’s degree in June,1986 and doctor’s degree in July, 1993. From October,1990 to October, 1992, he was sent as a visiting scholar to Kyushu Institute of Technology, where he learnt Mechanical Intelligence. From August 1993 to August 1998, he worked in Guangxi University, where he assumed the office of vice professor, professor, vice director of industry test center, vice dean of College of Computer and Information Science and Engineering and won the honor of College Talent for Tran century of Guangxi. And now, he is a professor, doctoral supervisor as well as director of Faculty of Automation and Network Engineering of College of Automation Science and Engineering. His research interests range from analysisof control systems, theory and application of intelligent control, network communication and control systems, robot control systems, motion control systems to pattern recognition and information processing. He has participated in research into the project of the first welding robot of China, which won the first prize awarded by Ministry of Metallurgical. He also took an active part in the project of Intelligent Walking Assist robot supported by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, which achieved fruitfully in the field of robot vibration control. He has led and accomplished such projects as the Genetic Neural Network, which was supported by National Natural Foundation, CNC machining control systems with CNC machine locating , supported by China Scholarship Council of Ministry of Education, computer controller of plastic shaper with screen, which was supported by Science and Technology Committee of Guangxi Province and was identified in March 1998 to be at the leading level in domestic field, variable frequency speed regulator based on computer and multi-functional controller of plastic shaper, supported by Guangxi Education Committee, intelligent laser control systems based on three-dimensional image processing of laser spot, supported by Guangdong Science and Technology Council, intelligent elevator control system with self-owned intellectual property rights, supported by Foshan Science and Technology Bureau; what’s more, he has participated in the research of Force tele-presence of Robots supported by National 863 Program and has taken an active part in the development of various control systems, including computer cement blending control system, elevator control system, Injection Molding Machine control system, Intelligent Electric Meter, laser CNC maching control system, remote network monitoring control system and speed regulator for Asynchronouselectromotor of soft start, which has been granted the national patent. He has delivered lectures on more than 10 specialized courses to graduates and undergraduates, and has published a book and over 80 papers, 15 of which are included in SCI, SCIE and EI. Aside from the above, he is now a member of Robot Professional Committee of Chinese Association of Automation , Automation Education Committee of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Guangdong Academic Association of Elevator.
