The School of Arts, South China University of Technology was founded in 2004. Currently there are 57 faculty members.

Since the establishment, we adhere the idea of “original works oriented to bring along discipline construction and talent training”. The school has produced original works such as the large-scale symphonic oratorio “Forerunner - Sun Yat-Sen”, symphonic song suite “My Home, My Country”, chamber music suite “Qin Yue Time and Space”, choral painting “Hear Guangdong”, and the dance choreography “Beautiful China”.

Our faculties are distinguished artist-teachers, many of them have received the Chinese Golden Bell Award For Music, Splendor Award, and Lotus Award among others. We have our own youth symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, youth choir, and dance troupe.

The School of Arts is entitled to the Ministry of Education supported project “Cantonese Opera Art Inheritance Base”, the Guangdong instrumental music training base and the modern music center, etc. In addition, we also have a symphony concert hall, a chamber music hall, electronic music laboratories and other facilities. Every year, our school provides various activities and great performance opportunities for our students to enrich their musical journey. The School of Arts is committed to build a comprehensive program to achieve an educational highland that will nurture and guide the artists in the future.
