Fu Lei

          Born in Xi’An in 1980, Fu Lei began his horn studies with professor Li Lizhang at the Xi’An Conservatory of Music during his childhood.  In 1999 he formally entered the Xi’An Conservatory of Music where he was an active soloist and chamber musician.  While there he received many prizes for horn performance and in 2002 received first prize in the Xi’An Conservatory of Music Chamber Music Competition.  Outside of Xi’An, Fu Lei was selected to represent his conservatory at the National Conservatory Music Festival in Xiamen and attended the Guangzhou International Music Week in October of 2002. Soon after graduating in 2003, Fu Lei joined the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and with them has been to many of the world’s great concert halls in Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Australia, Egypt, and many others.  With regards to teaching, Fu Lei is an active teacher at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music and at the Art College of the South China University of Technology.
