Abstract:

Scientific research on polymer physics from the point of single molecule could help us obtain information of single polymer chain, thus help us understand properties of polymer system from molecular levels and scientific principle of polymer physical chemistry. By using single molecule fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy, we did some scientific research on single chain polymer physics, and obtained the basic information of single chain polymers from many aspects. In terms of the structure and kinetic properties of polyelectrolyte solution, the conformation of polyelectrolyte molecular chain and the image of counterweight ion distribution have been worked out. In terms of polymer crystallization, single molecule fluorescence imaging technology was used to track the movement of single molecular chain during the crystallization process, revealing the microscopic image of material transport during the crystallization process. As for glass transition, single molecule fluorescence defocusing imaging and polarization resolution imaging were used to obtain the rotational motion of single molecule in the polymer system, and the characteristic scale and dynamic heterogeneity of the glass transition were analyzed. Due to the high detection sensitivity and spatial resolution of single molecule fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy, single polymer chain information can be obtained effectively, providing reliable experimental proof for understanding the basic laws of polymers from the microscale and important means to study the basic problems of polymer physics.
