Large-scale instrument platform will be equipped with all kinds of preparation, analysis and processing equipment with excellent performance and complete functions, covering polymer materials, organic-inorganic hybrid/blend materials, structural analysis of biological materials, physical properties, processing molding, device preparation and other fields.
The development of new soft materials requires a lot of preparation and processing tests. The Research Institute will be equipped with a focused ion beam sampling system, a freezing microtome system, an ion thinner, a fine grinding machine, a high-vacuum evaporator, a liquid-mass spectrometry system, a ultra-high-speed stretcher, a bidirectional film stretcher, a high-performance liquid chromatograph, an analytical gel permeation chromatograph, a high-speed centrifuge, a desktop freezing centrifuge, a freeze drying machine, automatic protein separation and purification system and other equipment, fully meeting the requirements of sample preparation.
The macroscopic characteristics of soft materials are determined by the physical and chemical structures at different scales. In order to realize the full range characterization and analysis of material structure from atomic scale to product scale, the institute will purchase cryogenic transmission electron microscopy, cryogenic scanning electron microscopy, rotating anode target two-dimensional wide-angle X-ray diffractometer, ultra-high resolution ultra-fast atomic force microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy, multi-mode optical microscopy, laser biomolecular imager, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer, solution NMR spectrometer, solid-state NMR spectrometer, micro-Raman spectroscometer, micro-infrared spectrometer, ultraviolet-visible spectrometer, circular dichroism spectrometer, dynamic light scattering system and so on, ensuring that researchers can fastly, accurately and comprehensively understanding the relevant structural and dynamic information after preparation of new materials.
In order to some basic properties of soft materials, the institute will also be equipped with Zeta potentiometer, high-precision gas densitometer, thermogravimetric analyzer, differential scanning calorimeter, dynamic thermomechanical analyzer, rotary rheometer, multi-functional mechanical tester, multi-functional ellipsometer, flow cytometer, isothermal analyzer, calorimetric titrator, biological macromolecule interactional instrument and other equipment, fully covering all kinds of measurement on the physical properties and function of materials
In addition, the institute is close to the State Key Laboratory of Light-emitting Materials and Devices, the National Engineering Research Center for Polymer New Forming Equipment and the Guangzhou Institute of Energy, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other key scientific research institutes, and have extensive collaborations with them on organic light-emitting materials, microelectronic devices, polymer processing, energy materials and environmental protection technologies. Their instruments can also be used for the measurement of material properties.
