报告摘要:

Neutron total scattering may be the only non-destructive way to measure the most-probable all-atom positions of disordered macromolecules. Theoretically, the scattering pattern is a weighted summation of the Fourier transforms of all pair correlation functions. We must solve all of them first before the atomic positions can be allocated. However, traditional total scattering can only contribute one scattering curve. It is thus difficult to solve the problem in disordered macromolecules who has little symmetry, until deuterate labeling and computer simulation are introduced. On one hand, deuterate sample has the same atomic structures with its hydrogenate counterpart, and each of them can provide one independent scattering curve; on the other hand, computer simulation can help us to visit all of their possible configurations and conformations. In the presentation, I will show you our efforts to derive the most-probable all-atom positions of disordered materials in liquids, melt and glass.

报告人简介:

Prof. He CHENG got his Ph.D. in the department of polymer science and engineering in the University of Science and Technology of China in 2006. Then started his career in the laboratory of polymer physics and chemistry in the institute of chemistry, he worked with Prof.Charles Han to build the neturon scattering instrument. moved to china spallation neutron source, the institute of high energy physics as professor in 2014. His main research interest is to study the kinetics and dynamics of multiscale and multiphase structures in soft matter. He has published 48 papers in Macromoleclus, Soft Matter, Langmuir, et. al.. He is now working on deriving the most-probable all-atom structures of disordered macromolecules by neutron total scattering.
